Babri Masjid Case: Criminal Conspiracy Charges Framed Against Advani, Joshi, Bharti And Three Others

LUCKNOW, INDIA - MAY 30: Hindu political activist and social worker Sadhvi Ritambhara after getting bail in Ayodhya Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid Demolition case at CBI court on May 30, 2017 in Lucknow, India. Senior BJP leaders LK Advani, Union Minister Uma Bharti and Murli Manohar Joshi along with Vinay Katiyar, Vishnu Hari Dalmiya and Sadhvi Rithambara faced a special CBI court in Lucknow in the 1992 Babri mosque demolition case and were charged with criminal conspiracy. The demolition of the mosque followed a nationwide movement led by Mr Advani and others for a temple at the site where the mosque was constructed by the Mughals. Many Hindus believe that the mosque was built over the birthplace of Lord Ram; they want a temple to be built there.(Photo by Subhankar Chakraborty/Hindustan Times )
