BUDGAM, INDIA - MAY 23: Embroidery artisan Farooq Ahmad Dar who was used as a human shield by army, sits in his home and holds a picture of him being tied on a jeep in Chill village on May 23, 2017 in Budgam, India. A video of Dar tied to the bonnet of the jeep went viral, triggering a public outcry. Army Major Leethul Gogoi who tied the dar to the bonnet, revealed that, he has taken this impromptu act in order to save 12 lives, as the 1200 people have surrounded ITBP personnel and polling staff inside Utligam polling station where petrol bombs were also being hurled. Gogoi also claimed that Dar was among a group of people pelting security forces with stones.
