JNUSU Protest Seat Cuts in M.Phil-Ph.D

NEW DELHI, INDIA - MARCH 24: JNUSU student during the protest against massive seats cut in M.Phil and Ph.D programs outside the UGC office at ITO on March 24, 2017 in New Delhi, India. According to the prospectus released by the Varsity on Tuesday, only 194 seats are available that include both integrated M.Phil-Ph.D and direct Ph.D. Last year, the figure was 1174. In fact, several centers at the varsity have not offered even a single seat in these courses. JNU administration maintains it has only implemented the University Grant Commission (UGC) notification of May 2016 without any deviation. (Photo by Ravi Choudhary/Hindustan Times )
